Dear Members and Friends,
Welcome once again to another exciting year of outstanding
musical events. ACES is celebrating twenty-seven years of
bringing superb performances to the Eastern Shore.
In order to meet our FY
2006-07 Scholarship budget the Arts Council appealed to our
membership for a tax-deductible donation of at least $50.00,
Many of our members generously replied and ACES was able to
give $2750.00 in scholarships to six deserving arts
students. ACES thanks those members for their generous
responses.
The performance fees of our
two faithful and outstanding groups, the Richmond Ballet and
the Virginia Symphony, increased by 20% last year. As you
know, some of our costs are underwritten by grants from the
Virginia Commission for the Arts, the National Endowment for
the Arts and generous contributions from local businesses.
But we cannot continue to bring these events to the Shore
without the generous support of our membership. This year,
in order to meet our budget, we have increased the price of
each ticket by $2.00. The following table shows the new
ticketing structure. As you can see, our pricing structure
is set to benefit our members.
